Velvet & Sam - Waiting 3 years for a home! 10/12/06

Velvet and Sam are a gorgeous bonded pair of rabbits looking for a special forever home together this Christmas.

Oxfordshire Lops Appeal 29/08/06

79 rabbits were rescued from cramped conditions in oxfordshire. We now need your help to cover vet costs and find new homes.

Wally - Rabbit Cruelty (23/10/05)

We took in this rabbit to Greenfields Rescue Centre today. His owners would not pay to have him treated and wanted rid of him. He arrived unable to eat and is about half the body weight he should be.

Sophie & Sandy Wild X Rabbits (06/04/05)

Sophie and Sandy have been with us since December. While they are very friendly and happy to hand feed, they appear to be the product of a wild and domestic rabbit “liaison" and have retained some wild bunny characteristics.

Rabbit Influx at Wood Green Animal Shelter (02/02/05)

The charity has been inundated with small animals over the past few months and is full to capacity. Wood Green currently has over 31 guinea pigs and rabbits looking for new families.

200 Rabbits in Machester/Cheshire Area (12/01/05)

Wilmslow Humane Society need help in rehoming over two hundred cross bred rabbits kept in appaling conditions in one garden.

Homes and Donations Needed for Dutch x Belgium Hare Rabbits (05/01/05)

Portslade Animal Rescue (Sussex) were asked to take in 47 rabbits that were in danger of being put to sleep.

34 Rabbits in Surrey (07/10/04)

Animal Lifeline in Sutton, Surrey have taken in 34 rabbits as cruelty cases via the RSPCA. The rabbits are now all fit and healthy, they are a variety of breeds and all aged under 2 years.

72 Dutch Rabbits (04/07/04)

Bobtails and other south east rescues have been contacted by the RSPCA who removed 94 Dutch rabbits from a breeder who had decided to give up. Of these 22 have been found homes but the remaining 72 need homes by the end of next week otherwise they may have to be destroyed.

Update 24/07/04: Temporary foster homes were found, now the 72 bunnies and their 40+ babies need perminant homes.

Snowy and Fluffy (26/06/04)

Snowy and Fluffy must be rehomed together. They are both albino and Fluffy is a cashmere which means she will need regular grooming. Can you provide a perminant home for them?

Bournmouth - The Aftermath (23/06/04)

I am writing this in the hope that it will make people more aware of the consequences of breeding rabbits. When I first found out about the Bournemouth bunnies I was told that they were from a rescue that was closing down. This couldnt have been more wrong. These bunnies were the result of a ladies breeding project getting severly out of hand.

Molly, 11 years old, Needs a Home (22/06/04)

Moll is 11 years old and has just lost her life long partner Spot. She has been in foster care for 5 year and it is time she found a perminant home. She is looking for a home with an older bunny for company and a loving owner.

Poppy & Murphy (16/03/04)

Poppy & Murphy were rehomed to a loving family but the family are now emigrating to Australia so they are up for rehoming again. The owners don't want to hand them back to rescue until absolutely necessary so if possible we would like to find them a home before the end of March. Poppy is a very sweet Dwarf Lop and Murphy a black Dutch. They are both about three years old.

Two Years Waiting for a New Home (08/03/04)

After being over looked for two years Romeo and Bumble-Butt really deserve a perminant home to call their own.

Bunny Cam (13/02/04)

Can you spot a wild bunny on this BBC webcam? The camera has been set up in a small countryside area at the Cambridge Business Park and workers regularly put out carrots for the bunnies, who are keen to come and eat, and pose in front of the webcam.

URGENT - Places Needed for 28 Rabbits (09/02/04)

Over the past two years we have worked with with a man removing rabbits from a snake food breeder, they have finally closed the breeder down and the final 28 rabbits are in desperate need of homes by saturday.

Wild Cross Pet Baby Rabbits (30/01/04)

We are getting eight six week old baby rabbits coming in on Saturday 31st January 2004. They are all agouti. They are the result of two female pet rabbits escaping and mating with wild bunnies.

100 Rabbits Needing Homes - Update (29/01/04)

The rabbits removed from a rabbit 'rescue centre' in Bournmouth that closed down have been taken in by generous rabbit lovers and a few hard working rescue centres - Thank you! Whilst these rabbits are now safe they still need homes.

Cashmere Lop Crisis (28/01/04)

We are a rescue centre in Mistley, Essex and we have 47 rabbits and about 13 guinea pigs looking for homes. We have had recently a lot of cashmere lop cruelty cases. We urgently need homes for all the rabbits but particulary the longhaired ones.

Trio of Rabbits (25/01/04)

Nosey, Dozey and Missy were bought into rescue because the house they lived at got a rat infestation and they decided to get rid of the rabbits. They live happily in a group and they must stay as this as they are a bonded group. They used to be house rabbits and are litter trained, but were then moved into an outside hutch by the previous owners. So they can live as house rabbits, garden rabbits or both.

Update: These three have now been rehomed!

Do you have sofa space for Winston? (30/12/03)

Winstons owner sadly died and now he needs a new home as a house bunny. He is a French Lop X with a very sweet temprement. He would really love a lady friend to share his new home with. He needs a home as soon as possible as is becoming depressed.

As rabbits and guinea pigs come into our shelter following sadly being found abandoned, dumped or due to neglect they often don't have a name, finding a suitable name at times can be very hard work as you can imagine with lots of animals coming in and going out! Can you help?

Homes needed for 14 Bunnies at Bracknell Rescue (25/11/03)

Nutmeg needs a home in Bracknell Here at Bracknell Rabbit Rescue we have had in 14 bunnies on top of the 30 already in. 10 were kept 5 to a hutch which was 4ft x 18". The other 5 were in better condition apart from being very smelly and hungry. They had one small rabbit bowl and 1 small water bottle per hutch.

I have a dream... (11/11/03)

Ben is an agouti rabbit I have a dream that our rabbits will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their fur but by the content of their character. You can find representatives of every rabbit breed and colour in sanctuaries around the UK. But some are more likely to be offered homes than others. Can you help one of these bunnies?

Loving Homes Needed for Old Bunnies (19/10/03)

douglas - rex Bobtails in Surrey was recently contacted by an ex-breeder who needed to get rid of 10 elderly rabbits. They had obviously been kept in appalling conditions for quite some time, they has curling, twisted and overgrown claws and dirty matted fur and bottoms.

Blackberry Needs a Special Home (06/10/03)

blackberry, black and white toe Blackberry was taken from a home where they had been bred to feed to snakes. He is friendly, happy to be handled and very keen to see visitors if they bring food! Blackberry has pasteurella (also known as snuffles) is looking for a special home that will help him manage the problem.

Rabbit Project Overrun (27/09/03)

Places Needed for 100 Rabbits (17/08/03)

Back in October we rescued 32 babies from a couple who were feeding them live to snakes, we now need to place 100 adults. They will be arriving at Furry Friends in groups of 30 over the next few weeks.

Any rescues that feel they may be able to help would be very appreciated. And offers of homes for the healthy ones ready to be rehomed.

Looking for a rabbit/guineapig in Surrey? Animal Life line have over 100 guineapigs and many bunny's all looking for a home. They've got so many they are running out of space!

3 Week Deadline to home 41 Rabbits! (19/12/02)

Furry Friends Rescue has been contacted by a rescue organisation who needs to help find homes for 41 rabbits. They were taken in after the previous owner had over-bred them and in the end couldn't cope. They are in boarding at the moment, but only have three weeks to find homes or foster carers or they will be put to sleep.

6yr Old Widow Needs Someone to Love! (29/11/02)

dash for adoption middlesex Smudge and Dash were a loving pair for 6 years and now Dash is all alone. Smudge and Dash have been in a foster home for over 3 years and have always been passed by because of their age. He desperately needs somebunny to look after him. Can give this little bunny a home to call his own? UPDATE: Dash has now found a loving home.

Not a Happy Bunny (05/11/02)

hogwarts"One of the worst cases of abuse through neglect that we have seen this year." Bunny (renamed Hogwarts), his ordeal now ended, is being fostered by a member of staff from the Mayhew Animal Home, London. Caked in his own excrement up to his ribs, claws and teeth drastically overgrown, Hogwarts has spent the first 18months of his life in isolation in a tiny hutch. In the future Hogwarts is going to need a very special home.

The Tango Appeal (01/10/02)

tangoA bunny called Tango, an orange rex only about a year old, was living with an elderly couple in South London. The husband died recently, leaving his wife, who was unable to cope and had to go into a care home - Tango obviously had to be given up. Bobtails took him on with a view to neutering him, pairing him up and rehoming him. After his neuter operation Tango nibbled his stitches and an emergency operation left Bobtails with a bill for over £600!
