Blackberry Needs A Special Home

Blackberry for rehoming Kent

I am currently fostering Blackberry for Last Chance Animal Rescue. He was one of the rabbits taken from a home where they had been bred to feed to snakes.

Blackberry is a medium sized mostly black boy, with a white toe, he might be an angora cross as he has a slightly longer coat than usual. The vet estimates that he is 5 or 6 months old, so he probably has a bit more growing to do. He is friendly, happy to be handled and very keen to see visitors if they bring food!

Blackberry has pasteurella (also known as snuffles) is looking for a special home that will help him manage the problem. His current treatment consists of antibiotic injections on alternate days. I have learned to do this and I'm sure most people could too. The medication keeps most of the symptoms under control but he does sometimes still sneeze. He will also need space to run around a nice diet of hay and fresh veggies to boost his immune system.

Blackberry for rehoming Kent Pasteuralla is infectious so Blackberry either needs to go to a home without any other rabbits or a home which already has rabbits with this disease. His new home also needs to be near Edenbridge in Kent, so that the Last Chance vet can prescribe the medication and monitor his condition.

I know this sounds like a long list of requirements, but Blackberry is a lovely rabbit and deserves a loving home of his own.

Thank you.

P.s. If you have read this appeal previously you may notice Blackberry has turned from a girl into a boy, sorry for any confusion.
