Places Needed for 28 Rabbits
About two years ago I was called by a woman needing help to place rabbits who were being bred for snake food.
They had managed to pull out 36 babies and these were placed into three seperate rescues - Bobtails, Animal Lifeline and Furry Friends.
Last August I was contacted by a man helping out in the same situation. They had managed to get a further 27 rabbits out. These were placed at Last Chance Animal Rescue, Animal Lifeline and Furry Friends.
Today I was contacted by the same man who has finally after two years of work, managed to get the place shut down in respect to breeding rabbits and guinea pigs (they still have rats, hamsters, gerbils and mice being kept in draws, but that is another story.)
He is looking to place 28 rabbits by Saturday. I won't lie to you. These rabbits have been BADLY neglected (those of you who read the story of Bill - the Angora with an abscess left untreated for about 6 months...he was from this situation.) They have the Snuffles and need veterinary care. The man has taken those who need to see the vet to his own vet and they have been treated appropriately, so there is one good point. The first two batches hadn't ever seen a vet.
The guinea pigs are placed. They are going to Animal Lifeline. However, Christine doesn't have any room for any rabbits.
